I can’t stop thinking about a future where it becomes commonplace for people to buy a $300-400 device that sits on their home network and runs a slew of services that they previously paid a monthly/yearly fee for.
Maybe the company selling the device would offer optional subscriptions to facilitate access of the services outside of your home network and for encrypted, off-site backups of the device’s data.
