I developed a weird habit awhile back as a writing exercise when I was feeling blocked. I'd pick a random passage from the Book of the Subgenius and write commentary like I was still in philosophy grad school. I'd write an incredibly straight-laced, sober description and interpretation, like one of those Nietzsche scholars who wants to make a career out of him has to pretend that underneath what he really said are just straightforward, common sense truisms. Kinda pointless. Kinda fascinating.
