Emeritus Prof Christopher May on Nostr: Taking to the FT, Douglas Alexander (remember him?) the new Trade Minister, ...
Taking to the FT, Douglas Alexander (remember him?) the new Trade Minister, implicitly recognises the gravity theory of international trade when he says:
'For all the talk about the death of distance, geography still matters with trade... It’s no surprise the UK’s biggest trading relationship is with the EU, it accounts for 47% of the UK’s total trade'!
So (thankfully) that's where his diplomacy & efforts will be concentrated.
Now, he has to hope the EU will be receptive!
