When I explore forests, estuaries and beaches to photograph nature and wildlife, I always pick up litter on the way back to my vehicle. I think of all the potential harm it can cause to wildlife no matter how small the piece of junk is: plastic ties, cigarette butts, pieces of foam, plastic bottles, ropes...
Please think about picking up litter on your excursions even if it's not yours and if it looks gross and dirty, you're doing it for nature.
