I understand my county may be feeling their way through this whole emergency alert thing, but I am not sure that waking me up at 6:20 am to tell me that the neighborhood >9 miles away no longer has to stay indoors because of police activity is a good use of the system. For one thing, it makes me want to un-sign up or silence the number immediately.
(Previously on This Is New: my county’s 3rd party emergency alerts are formatted like scam messages.)
