I went once. I drove in from the South to the South Rim village, dumped my bags and ran for the last sunset bus I was warned was leaving.
I didn't have a window seat.
The bus stopped at an overlook and let us off.
I walked to the rim view and burst out in real tears and gasps. I will never forget the solitude, the sound of the wind, the sun reflecting off glorious views.
