"It is finished". There is a new covenant between God and the people. Because of Christ's perfect sacrifice, anyone can have direct access to God, through Christ Jesus. Once you recognize His Lordship, you are able to appropriate His payment for all your sin. The gift of the Holy Spirit fills us with the righteousness of Christ and enables us to draw near to God. Before Christ's sacrifice, we did not have direct access to God. We can now enter the very throne room of God.
