So last night a young man was shot and killed near my uni campus, on a volleyball court near some dorms. Lots of emergency texts overnight, then the stock announcements today from the campus police and everyone; 'isolated incident', the victim isn't a student here (he was a student at a local community college).
This afternoon, an email from one of my student's accounts, sent by a family friend of hers. The victim was her brother.
