He is assuming that his siding with men on this issue means feminists who have a different opinion must hate men and, since he's gay, that means they hate gay men. The issue itself is clearly not relevant to the discussion.
I'd rather such problems not degenerate into name calling but disingenuous name calling is even worse. There's no coming back from it.
