Then listen to portions of each take and make notes on my lyric sheet printout which parts I like best corresponding to each track. Then I copy and paste each chosen vocal bit into a master vocal track. It’s kind of weird and laborious, but I’m getting way faster now. Sometimes I don’t even make notes anymore; just go by memory and comp on the fly. For me, comping is a wild thing. I both enjoy it and dread it at the same time! Lol.
