npub1xsymv0rcpcxj360a5274hx2l8d46lhfrz82w0ra3e0kneqkwkxysyxcevg (npub1xsy…cevg) So much of Apple’s bells and whistles is not ready for prime time, or at least doesn’t live up to the hype. I can give the exact same command to Siri multiple times, and get
• successful execution
• “I found the following on the web…”
• “The <device> is taking some time to respond” - device has already responded
• “The <device> is taking some time to respond” - device isn’t responding
• “The <device> is taking some time to respond” - I go into Home and click on the device, which responds immediately
• “Okay, here’s some music about living room lamps just for you…”
And so on. They really need an algorithm that remembers successful commands and just do that action every time going forward. Maybe not do the stuff that results in swearing 😄
Sorry, ranting because all my Apple devices seemed to be borked today and I'm not looking forward to rebuilding my main user account on the MacBook 😡
I’m curious - how much work has to be done at the app developer end to incorporate Shortcuts commands? I have an extremely popular exercise tracking app that has *no* support at all, aside from just being able to open the app in Shortcuts. It would be so much better if it just had a minimum of commands like “finish workout” built in…
