The bottom line is that \"process\" in psychology and neuroscience is way underspecified. Because our theories/studies are not sufficiently formalized, precise or \"mechanistic\", the term gets used as a potent filler. It's way too malleable and in that way deviates strongly from the \"things vs. processes that philosophers talk about.
