We have a combined washer-dryer (which I love) in our garage, and we have a rain-barrel-type system hooked up to it to collect the water from the drying cycle.
We just have to remember to physically move the hose to the barrel. Then I have to drain the water into a bucket to take outside. (It sounds like more of a hassle than it is. We reclaim ~3-5 gallons of water per load of laundry.)
