Great point and great source to point to. I agree we are not doing enough; our goals are insufficient and we are not even meeting them as the production gap shows.
However, the fact we are not doing enough is pretty well known (especially here on the fediverse), which seem to be leading some to give up and despair.
I find it useful to also point out the positives to help keep people willing to fight to do better and sharing the good news can help.
