I’m sorry, it’s harsh. It’s probably better to embrace it now and seek fulfillment in other places than to live as I did with misplaced belief. I ardently hope you find a true friend and partner to travel through the decades ahead with. My experience is that most friendships are opportunistic, best case symbiotic, but always susceptible to the loss of utility and function.
