Just my hot take but adding search is on zero ways harmful (your stuff is already public! You can build this easily if you wanted to anyways!), and is in fact very good. Right now the only way to find anything later is to bookmark it and I have to self throttle that since search isn’t great. The thing that makes Mastodon great is the quality of the people and posts. Adding a search feature won’t change that.
