For instance, American commerce has rejected regulation in favor of free-market capitalism, but everyone (including #USPol news media) focuses on government as the cause and solution for inflation. Corporations, not government, set prices and take profits. Independent journalism means questioning and reporting vs. parroting public sentiment (and partisan rhetoric)
