"Don't have any foreign characters - American readers can't empathise with foreigners" (on a book set in Czechoslovakia, written by a Brit).
"Don't describe the setting, you should leave that to the reader's imagination". No.
"Having LGBT characters alienates the readers". Get in the bin.
"You can't make the MC asexual. Readers want romance in every book." I read. No I don't.
