Last night I did see someone post a modified flag in a spaceflight related space I'm in, so I'm making the tenuous assumption that it might be the same one we're talking about:
It has 13 stripes and 36 stars arranged in the pattern of the raptor engines to be installed in version 2 of the super heavy booster being developed in Texas.
I went looking for where it says this is illegal and found out it's actually probably not. Any historical flag may be flown. I'm not clear if that means it has to have exactly the same star arrangement or just any quantity of stars that has been used officially.
