Interestingly, I've always said this, but now I'm realizing that the approach above would not be sufficient because, for example, we would not be able to know who replied to us, which is something that relays make easy. We would also lose all the other cool things that relay can do and in the end we would have to resort to the Blueky/Pubky approach of having one big "indexer" that would crawl all the IPNS indexes, download all posts and serve them using an HTTP API that everybody would use and then we would get VC funding, create a walled garden controlled by a single company and call it a decentralized social network.
