I think it's both. So, the particles zooming around in an aurora storm, knocks out the intergalactic cosmic rays. This is only what I learned at the geo institute of the Rocket range supercomputer that studied the aurora in alaska.. Otherwise, it pierces the shield... weakining shield is obvs not good. But the zoomies, are clobbering the weird shit. In 2 years, we will be at another solar minimum and wen that happens, that's bad again. we're on space vacation till then. ⚡🍻
