While I love the idea of one standard, USB-C has caused me to buy TWO, not just ONE, cable testers to troubleshoot which of the BILLION types of USB-C cables I need to connect a device with.
This isn't unique to Apple devices, which relatively "just works" for me.
So, giving Apple an excuse to force users after ~15 years of using Lightning to upgrade their devices because they can't find a cable is a lousy way to handle it. 🤷
