"content": "Today we can run a lightening node on a device with ~5GB of storage (either with pruned node or connected to, for example, full bitcoin node on umbrel). The main issue with LN today is that such devices should always be online monitoring the channels (in case a user doesn’t want to rely on watch towers). However, our mobile phones today are almost always online and has more than 5GB of storage. Why such approach of running LN is not being widely adopted today? Instead the scaling debate is somehow shifting to experimenting on a foundational main layer. With or without soft fork, it seems unnecessary considering LN is working today and can scale well. What am I missing/not seeing? Any comment is appreciated to help me identify gaps in my thinking.\n\nnostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m nostr:npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vle nostr:npub1qg8j6gdwpxlntlxlkew7eu283wzx7hmj32esch42hntdpqdgrslqv024kw nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s",
