Oh wow! I suffered from chronic reoccurring sinus infections and went through a similar situation. I hate Prednisone, long term use always makes me gain weight. Have you had a sinus X-ray at all? My grandma is going in for one next week actually.
I ran a 5k run in college where they tossed blacklight powder at everyone and then there was a crappy rave at the end that dumped even more powder. Anyways that stuff gave me an infection for about 3 months and it finally went away right before I flew to Japan. I was going to fiy regardless but I was dreading flying with sinus pain, glad I healed.
Have you been doing irrigation when you come inside to clear things out?
