And if you want to spend a bit more, for $500-$1500, there's often a table that would cost $8k-$12k new. E.g., I just picked up a beautiful table that's a solid 3" slab of wood (legs are similar). If you price out a raw unfinished slab wood that looks that nice, just the top and not the legs, the raw slab will cost you about $1k. Commissioning the full table from a reputable maker would be something like $10k and
