Reading this piece, the idea of Feinstein's staff having "frank conversations with her about her future" seems absurd; it's hard to believe she is capable of making an informed decision to remain in office, or to leave. They've created this system around her that is operating on inertia alone, on autopilot until her term ends or she dies.
