EVACUATE BUNCOMBEY
US COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY COUNTY JAIL
As of 10/6/24 a report from inside indicates grueling conditions:
• No running water, only one 20-oz. of water received every 12 hours
•
People locked in cells with
unflushable toilets & feces
The county is actually increasing the amount of people subjected to these dangerous conditions by:
Cancelling court dates that could lead to release, claiming that they can't hold court until water is restored
Locking up new people, including on warrants without any new alleged crimes
DEMANDS
Evacuate the jail
• Immediately release all people in BCDC being held pre-trial on secured bonds

We have confirmed folks are still able to be bailed out of BCDC during this disaster but have been told everything is handwritten and takes longer. We have an $80,000 backlog of requests* we were already
unable to fill due to lack of funds before this occurred, and we are committed to working our way through it. Some people in our backlog have bails as low as $1000, so any donation, no matter how small, can add up to make a huge difference for someone during this traumatic time.
