Yesterday’s RDX60, the planned Rover 25/45 replacement under the 2000-2005 MG Rover regime, never made it into production. But the idea of adapting the company’s most modern platform, the Rover 75, to produce successors to these smaller models had a compelling logic, and was taken up by the later owners of what was left of MG Rover, SAIC of China, with this, the MG6, via the Roewe 550.
