The story that our problems stem from the fact that we just don't spend enough money, or buy the wrong products, only makes sense if you willfully ignore the power that corporations exert over our lives. It's nice to think that you can shop your way out of a monopoly, because that's a lot easier than *voting* your way out of a monopoly, but no matter how many times you vote with your wallet, the cartels that control the market will always win:
