What holds us back here isn't the tool: it's the fact that we've made it all about the tool.
Nostr will not become as mainstream as we'd want it to be because people do not care about interoperability or censorship resistance until they are forced to. And if they do, the most that they do is switching to another platform.
People also do not care about how awesome your product is, they just care about if it fits their needs *at that moment*. And centralized social media achieve this better.
