Happened to me for the first time today: An #HDMI cable (half) died while being in use. It was still able to transfer the resolution and frequencies supported by the screen, but no more transferred any picture. The death seems to have been triggered by plugging in the 3.5mm jack plug of a Logitech Z333 speaker set into the #Thinkpad docking station where the HDMI cable was plugged in, too. Simply exchanging the HDMI cable made it work again while turning off and on again everything else didn't.
