It is ok to disagree. My definition of money comes from the traditional rules. I believe Aristotle originated them, and Mike Maloney reinvigorated the ideas with his famous documentary series Hidden Secrets of Money.
Monero is currency because the supply is not fixed. Although monero inflation isn't an emergency just yet, it does not satisfy the properties of money.
Despite it not being money, it is a great, and useful currency. The dollar is not money either, it is currency. But it is extremely useful, just not a good store of value over the long run.
