So, for the first time we have a female chancellor....
Now the Q. is which is stronger - (without wishing to be too essentialist) her identity as a woman, or her past as someone who worked at the Treasury.
Many will be hoping her gender will alert her to the political economic impacts stressed by the Womens' Budget Group, while others will be convinced you can take someone out of the Treasury, but you cannot take the Treasury out of them.
We'll start to find out soon.
