The USA military is not socialist. The USA government is not socialist. They certainly have enough power to nationalize (almost) any industry they want, but 1.) they won't because the individual members of the government subscribe to capitalism and 2.) there are protections for private property written into the constitution as well as international law to which they are signatories.
Pretending that the USA military is a socialist entity is a lie designed to discredit real socialism imo. Unsure if that's a deliberate effort on your part, but it is the end effect.
