There was a tradition of saying "I'll eat it on the way" when buying a slice of pizza—meaning, "No bag, I'll eat it while walking down the street": I thought it was dead, but the other day I saw a woman eating a slice while walking down 7th Ave. in the freezing cold. I swooned.
