I agree. Whether to send a message or as an ad. Blockstream did a series of zap ads on one of my threads and I was like, “that’s awesome”.
If spam becomes a problem then maybe there could be a setting where you only display zap messages above a certain user-selected or note-creator-selected minimal threshold.
