Rented myself an Ampere Altra VM on Hetzner. For less than 10 bucks per month, I have a powerful 4 core machine with 8 GiB of system memory and an 80 GiB disk.
During my student times I had a single core 1 GiB VM with 20 GB of hard disk space for about 20 bucks per month. The VM was also thread-limited.
It's honestly impressive how ridiculously fast those instances are.
And how affordable a decent powerful VM is nowadays.
