To those who want to preemptively block #threads (in case your instance admin hasn't done so already):
Search for "nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kyqpqaenjvh8pyfuk3wrjrtd06s9zepaj3nwkyzxe3e9hlgnwyuvavz2qpgpp32 (nprofile…pp32)", click on that profile and then there is a menu item (under the ellipsis "..." button for me) with an option to "Block domain threads.net".
That's it.
