Does anyone other than me remember TVs that just _worked_? Take them out of their box, plug them into the power outlet, maybe hook up an antenna or cable box or video game or computer and they showed you pictures and sound. Worst came to worse you needed to replace a tube and even then those had basically disappeared by the late 1970s. No updates, no EULAs, no subscriptions*.
