The first responders extracted him, alive, put him in a body bag, loaded him on a gurney, and proceeded to load him into an ambulance.
A helicopter was shooting the whole event; just as the gurney was being lifted, Matthew pulled open the body bag. He struggled and waved his arms, seemingly pleading for help.
