Having engaged in and approached by the media quite heavily during the pandemic (and earlier on my work on privatisation), that has not been wholly my experience. In some cases, I have been quite pleasantly surprised. In others, it was frustrating.
Most frustrating was being approached by 'big news media' who took up to an hour or more of my time, took my ideas, and then did not credit me. It's egregious and happens more often to non-White women scholars.
