It's Malaysia Day (the day of the formation of our nation -- both East and West Malaysia and the usage of the name). I woke up to first a message from a scholar I've cited and whose research I admire (many squees), and a mass-form rejection for the other grant I applied for this year (I was expecting this). I feel the good far outweighs the bad because it reminds me of my commitment NOT to apply for anymore grants in the next two years and to focus on what matters. My research writing and my monograph.
