Browser extension works as it used to - it still requires some lightning node to operate.
The change is that Alby replaced their custodial wallet service with easy to use node app #AlbyHub. Makes it a bit more complicated now, but should be easier with time
nodana (npub1g26…y9fw) has pay as you go hosting for that
