"Secondary comms centre"
Hark at me. I live in a two bed terrace in North Wales.
Actually yes, I do need a secondary comms centre and I am watching some 10" racks on Ebay.
Now I just need to find a managed PoE switch that matches my requirements. Min 5 ports. preferably more, not all need to be PoE but at least two ports do.
If you're going to do it then do it properly. I won't be moving house for years.
