I agree. For example, the whole "Withering away of the state" concept from Marx and Engels is a good indication. There is a good chance the notion of Bitcoin would have spurred them more in this direction, because doing away with the state suddenly becomes something attainable with this new technology. Never before, could we have collective direct ownership, without a representative system. It's fascinating.
