Philanthropy was a much higher share of gdp before the government made everything an entitlement. Most people, even rich people naturally want to help others, they just want those others to have a little gratitude and humility about it. Instead we get people who have not contributed anything to their communities themselves voting for men with guns to go take what they want from the people who have already given the most to their neighbors. Not even under cover of darkness to hide the shame of their crime, they do it in broad daylight and have the audacity to proclaim it in the Orwellian names of 'justice' and 'fairness'. Indeed, they lock up as one would a dangerous animal any who stand against their violent avarice for they would rather see all a business' workers unemployed and all its customers left without service than suffer a single man to keep for himself, his family, and what charitable causes he deems worthy that which his customers gladly gave him in exchange for the sweat of his own brow.
It is for no lesser reason than my love of humanity that I hate socialism.
