I love people, culture, and language but solidarity with those with whom I happen to share those is, if forced, not solidarity at all, it is simply one more way of trying to make me give up my liberty and autonomy, or sovereignty, as it were. Putting yourself behind some collective, be it a nation, union, proletariat, or cult, just so you can work to collectively impoverish each individual member while only benefitting those who lead the group by force and coercion is neither smart nor honourable.
True solidarity can only be facilitated through voluntary association of independent individuals.
