An interesting read. I found it interesting that the article didn’t mention Calckey as another alternative. A huge advantage I see for Mastodon is its ability to integrate with other Activity Pub services such as Pixelfed and Calckey. Meanwhile, Nostr and Bluesky esssentially function in separate solos, for better or worse. I believe that social tools will need to adopt one standard protocol in order to find mass appeal, much like we needed over the evolution of the internet with other protocols (e-mail, web, FTP, IRC, etc).
