You may have heard on the news that it's raining here. Of biblical proportions. My relatives are hysterical trying to contact me. Yeah, when it rains, it rains like hammers and anvils such that it's hard to sleep through but people here are insane. The mani/pedi place usually jammed with trophy wives is empty as are other shops and the street free of cars for a change. But aside from a few downed trees, some land subsidence and gutters unable to handle the rivers of water coursing down curb sides, it's really not an excuse to call a snow day.
Compare this to our real natural disasters: wildfires where you sit calmly, bug out bag already packed, waiting to get the evac notice or earthquakes where we compete to see who correctly guesses the number on the Richter Scale. And I doubt anyone even notices the Tsunami Evacuation signs posted near the beach. We're heroes then. But a little precipitation? Total fucking babies.
