I disagree with this article saying that Russia is on the offensive AND making important gains. Arguably, any Russian gains around Avdiivka have less military significance and not much more territory than Ukrainian gains crossing the Dnipro.
But as for Seymour Hersh either being sold a bill of goods, or duped... I completely believe that. It would be very much in the interest of Russia to promote divisions between Zelenskyy and Ukraine's top general.
